Traditional French

Le Flip crepes are all freshly made using free-range eggs from a local farm near Bridgnorth, Shropshire. We offer both sweet crepes and savoury galettes de sarrasin (made with buckwheat flour).

We follow traditional French recipes handed down to us from Gabrielle Willepotte (Jack’s Grandmother from Lille, France) but with a few of our own twists to add some extra “je ne sais quoi” ( Shhh we haven’t told Gabrielle !).

Le Flip crepes are amongst the biggest in Europe at 40cms wide so the batter needs to be spot on to ensure the perfect consistency for a deliciously light crepe.

We offer a wide variety of fillings to suit your taste from classic sugar & lemon or ham & cheese to gourmet style salted caramel with vanilla ice-cream or smoked salmon & peppered rocket. We even offer a special gin & tonic flavoured crepe if that is your tipple!

We are flexible and love to hear your suggestions. If you have any particular favourites or special dietary requirements we will be very happy to work with you as long as we know in advance.

And all local!

All our ingredients are of the highest quality and we aim to source as locally and sustainably as possible. We are lucky to have a variety of excellent farm shops and butchers near our home in Shropshire.

We take care to recycle as much waste as possible. Any safe food waste is fed to our own chickens at home.

For cooking we use traditional Krampouz gas crepieres imported directly from Brittany. We bring our own gas, offering self-sufficient cooking in daylight. (At night time we need access to an electricity supply for lighting.)

All crepes are freshly cooked in front of guests, this adds a touch of theatre to the process and often guests enjoy watching for a while.
